Maren Cohn

Coming from a professional academic background, Ms. Cohn brings fresh experience and perspectives to her work as a writer and consultant with Hamstreet & Associates. Her strong analytical skills, insight, and clear thinking assist the firm in creating a wide variety of written products.

Ms. Cohn's client work includes performing research and preparing documents used in the turnaround process. She studies and reports on topics ranging from market trends and government policies to cultural situations and trade issues that affect particular companies. Other tasks might involve interviewing members of client organizations, writing newsletters or articles on behalf of Hamstreet clients, or generating handbooks and policies for their use.

Internally, Ms. Cohn assists in the preparation of proposals, assessments, trade journal articles, and press releases. She supervises marketing initiatives and helps to articulate company positions and values. Backed by her versatile set of skills, Hamstreet & Associates' financial and operational experts can dedicate themselves with even greater concentration to advising clients.

Ms. Cohn graduated Phi Beta Kappa with Honors and Distinction from Stanford University and received her Ph.D. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago.  With a background in Western literature, classics, and philosophy, she taught for several years at St. John's College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.

Ms. Cohn has led adult reading seminars through Portland's Literary Arts organization and has worked as a legal assistant and researcher, drafting legal memoranda, motions, and trial briefs. She devotes considerable energies to both creative and academic writing.
